Meet Jessica

Your Relatable ADHD Coach

Hey there! I’m Jessica Zimmerman, your soon-to-be favorite ADHD coach, wife, and mom of two wildlings. If you think you’ve had a tough ride, buckle up – my story’s a doozy, and you might just see a reflection of yourself in it.

The Not-So-Ideal Childhood

Let’s start with my less-than-perfect upbringing. Picture this: a girl with big dreams and an even bigger chip on her shoulder, always trying to outdo her parents. Yep, that was me. I was in the gifted program, always the odd one out, thinking differently from everyone else. High achiever? Check. Perfectionist? Double-check.

Extreme Living

Feeling all the feels wasn’t my strong suit. Anger? Nailed it. Emotional regulation? Not so much. I did everything to the extreme. Worked in the car business for over 60 hours a week, then “retired” to become a Pilates instructor, marathon runner, and yoga-certified zen master. Keeping busy was my jam. I joked about having ADHD, but never took it seriously. Oh, the irony.

Fast forward to motherhood and a global pandemic. I hit rock bottom. I was in peak physical shape (hello, six-pack abs), but emotionally? I was a wreck. Hours of exercise, meditation, journaling, dieting, and practicing gratitude, yet I was still unhappy. Therapy and life coaching didn’t cut it. Anxiety? Sure. Depression? Nope. Disordered eating? Unfortunately, yes.

The Rock Bottom

The ADHD Revelation

Finally, I got the ADHD diagnosis. Medication was life-changing – until my brain decided to outsmart the meds. Then, I had an allergic reaction to stimulants. Classic me. In true ADHD fashion, I dove headfirst into learning everything about ADHD. That’s when it hit me: pills don’t create skills.

Armed with my newfound knowledge, I realized I could help others

Managing ADHD isn’t about being perfect; it’s about understanding how your brain works and developing the right skills. Before my diagnosis, life felt like a never-ending game set to “hard” mode. I managed until I couldn’t. Hormones, self-criticism, you name it – I was my own worst enemy.

The Turning Point

Diagnosis was my turning point. I understood why so many women get diagnosed mid-life – because we’ve been playing at “hard” level until we hit a wall. Now, I’m here to help you navigate this rollercoaster. Trust me, I get it. I’ve been there, done that, and got the ADHD coach t-shirt to prove it.
